The Living Alone Increase is handled by the section that pays your main social welfare payment or pension — there is no separate Living Alone office.

Before you ring

  • Have your PPS number to hand — you will be asked for it first.
  • Many changes of circumstance can be done online through MyWelfare without ringing at all.
  • If you are appealing a decision, you have 60 days from the date on the decision letter.
